FORD FIESTA PRESS RELEASE.

FORD FIESTA GETS INTO 'CHICK LIT' WITH TOP-SELLING AUTHOR, CAROLE MATTHEWS

BRENTWOOD,  March 2004 --  Britain's best-selling small car, Ford Fiesta will be appearing in the pages of a fantastic new novel for young women, 'The Sweetest Taboo' when it hits bookstores next month. The Sweetest Taboo is the latest book from 'chick lit' sensation Carole Matthews and is now on sale across Britain.

Fiesta comes alive in the pages of The Sweetest Taboo and will also star in a selection of short stories that Carole will be writing for Ford. The short stories will appear on Carole's and Ford's websites and will be snapped up by women's magazines and national newspapers. Her last paperback reached number five in the Sunday Times bestseller list. She has also sold the film rights to two of her books.

"I've got a long history with cars and my first car was a Fiesta. Most of my books feature young trendy women and so it was a perfect fit with Fiesta. I think there are some car habits that are peculiar to women – using cars as an extension of your handbag and also giving them cute names." said Carole.

"Fiesta is a firm favourite with women and we wanted to bring it alive in a contemporary way. This complements our marketing strategies to reach female Fiesta buyers through women's magazines and their websites. Carole is a bestseller and so is Fiesta….a great combination," said Peter Fleet, marketing director, Ford of Britain.
